More than 150 invited guests gathered on Brickell Avenue last week to salute the 52 community leaders who were featured in the 2022 Book of Leaders, which compiles a full year of achiever profiles that are Miami TODAY’s hallmark.
Business, civic and government leaders — many of whom were recognized as Achievers in past years and some of whom will appear in future editions of the book — gathered at the Northern Trust at 600 Brickell Avenue this year to mingle with gathered in the 24th floor offices of the bank. In a brief program, Miami TODAY’s guests were welcomed by Alexander Adams, president of the Northern Trust for the South Florida region.
Miami Today is celebrating its 40th year of publication and Northern Trust recently celebrated 50 years in Miami. The organizations have collaborated on a number of community efforts over the years, including the creation of the Brickell Avenue Literary Society and the development of the Prolog Society.
Miami TODAY publisher Michael Lewis and vice president Carmen Betancourt-Lewis noted to the celebratory group that the news organization carefully selects those selected for their impact and service to the community.
The celebration included not only the Book of Leaders 2022 but also those for 2020 and 2021, which were released during the pandemic when mass celebrations could not be held. Mr Adams said last week’s Book of Leaders reception was the biggest event held at the Northern Trust before the pandemic.
“We are proud to honor these stellar individuals,” said Mr. Lewis.
