Louisiana police are continuing to investigate the mysterious death of a Georgia man who went missing while on a business trip and was reportedly found dead a week later, rolled up in a rug.
Nathan Millard, 42, was last seen on the night of February 22 in the downtown area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. the police said earlier, The father of five was found dead around 3:30 a.m. Monday, less than two miles from where he was last seen alive.
A preliminary autopsy report at Millard found there were no internal or external trauma to his body, as officials work to determine how he died and where he was found.
Violent Crimes Unit Captain Kevin Heinz said in Tuesday’s news release, “It does not appear that anything criminal was occurring. At this time, we have no indication that there was any foul play involved.” conference.

Millard had attended an LSU men’s basketball game on February 22 with a customer.
Police said Millard went to a Baton Rouge pub after the game and was last seen leaving the pub at around 10:30 p.m.
It was initially believed that he had left the pub to return to his hotel, but about an hour after leaving the establishment, surveillance equipment tracked him to a Greyhound bus station, where a security guard offered to call Millard an Uber.
Heinz said, “He didn’t appear to be in distress, he just felt like he was out of place. He declined that offer and he left.”
Police said they were able to track Millard for several hours to various businesses in the Baton Rouge area. He was last seen on February 23 at around 4:30 am. Police did not reveal where he was last seen as part of the investigation.

Millard’s body was found on the 2900 block of Scenic Highway, less than two miles from the Greyhound bus station.
The Associated Press confirmed, “Millard from Covington was found dead early Monday behind a closed funeral home. The body was wrapped in a rug and plastic.”

A preliminary autopsy report by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office found no evidence of trauma on Millard’s body, but the office is awaiting toxicology tests for final autopsy results.
The cause and manner of death is pending completion of the final autopsy report.

Police said they are continuing to investigate Millard’s death and do not suspect foul play. They are seeking to speak to anyone who may have been in contact with Millard in the hours before and after he was last seen. They are also trying to find out who may have placed Millard where his body was found.
“Efforts are being made to locate and speak to whoever entered there,” Heinz said. “We would ask whoever put it there if something happened and there was a moment of panic, come forward. We just want to know what happened to him.”
