You may have heard of thieves stealing and robbing precious items from households, but you may be surprised to meet the three Goat thieves from Tarabari, in Barpeta. These three man stole goats from the area and luckily the police was able to get hold of them and rescue all the stolen goats to their respective owners. The more funny it may look to witness a case of goat theft, it is not.

This case took place on 9th of  November, Tuesday, in Guwahati’s Barpeta. The goat theft cases were not only reported in Barpeta but also from the neighboring towns. Some goats were stolen in the daylight from their owner’s houses, some were stolen from the paddy fields and some were stolen in the night. The three man themselves confessed the theft and admitted their theft in the police station.

The thieves are identified to be Saiful Rahman, Saiful Islam and Abdul Aziz. These three are young man from 22-25 years of age and all of them don’t belong from the same town though. A total of 27 goats were found at the place where the thieves stored the goats. They used a Bolero Pick up to get hold of the goats and transport them to their place of Storage.

The local people whose goats got stolen, were interviewed by some of the journalists present in the scene. They reported that Goat theft was actually common in their area and that multiple cases of goat theft have been reported in the past few months. Most of the goats that got stolen were found at this place, but however many were still missing. They all have said that they’ll be now firing an FIR against the thieves so that proper action can be taken against them.

The police has caught hold of the thieves now and they are in the police custody for further interrogation. Their case has been registered and accordingly actions will be taken as per law. All the goats have been successfully returned to their owners and it is ensured that no thefts should be there in the near future.
